Book Review - True to yourselfReviewed by Paula Denison, MD SESC A publication from The Social Ventures Network Series, and a good introduction to leading a values-based business. Chapters include the need for transparency and responsibility, walking the talk, communicating with care, choosing like-minded partners. You would expect a book on values to adopt a moral high ground approach so it is a real accomplishment that this book avoids that particular trap. There are plenty of examples of real practical adption of good practice by third sector organisations - but all are American. It would have been usefull to see a few English examples in a UK edition of this title. The content is easily accessible not at all hard going and left me wanting to explore the subject in more detail, as well as reflect on how we are doing. Surely the author's intention? Mission accomplished! |
